human dots

with the human dots we gave ourselves a 4 for craft. we gave our self's a 4 because the pic were not blurry and really sharp.
for the use of negative space we gave our self's a 3.  We gave our self a 3 because the cups with the red was a bit distracting.. Also with Kevin's which are not pictures one could have been allot better. For the dots we gave our self's a 5 because you can actually tell our dots are dots. For human element we gave our self's a 4 because we use allot of humans in our pics which goes with our theme of individuality.
With theme we gave our self's a 5  because we achieved the goal of individuality.
With group process we gave the group a 3. In my mind that was very generous. We should have been more organized, people on time and people showing up and if they can not make it send someone in the group a text or call.
Also with this assignment i got upset because one person was suppose to print the pics in black and white and forgot to. Also another person only brought one pic. It is very frustrating to not be able to depend on my group. I can only depend on one of my team mates and it shows in the work.
Also with this assignment i got the wonderful opportunity to help out another group and another person. The pictures below are the pic from the group i got to help out. Even though my parents were not to happy with the pics but it is ART.

100 items 3D project

I took an item (candles) and made several different designs out of them. I made different patterns with turning then in different ways. On there sides upside down. I also stacked them in different ways.
The history of candles go way back. Man has used them for centuries to have light and stay warm. They go back as far as Ancient Egyptians. They are still used today to help aid travelers at night, lighting homes. The original ones where made out of beeswax. Candles started getting colors and scents because of American women. the invention of the light bulb started the decline of the usage of candles. There mostly used for romance or decoration. Dictionary term for candle is a long, usually slender piece of tallow or wax with an embedded wick that is burned to give light. There are several songs with candle in the title. Candle in the Wind, Elton John. Candle in the Window, Loan Kennedy. My favorite, Light my Candle, Rent. Old Flames Can't hold a candle to You, Joe Sun. There are too many poems to list them but most of them are holiday poems that mention candles.

One of my ideas on how to create a sculpture out of candles is to make a flower in a flower pot. I want to  bind them together with wax and if that doesnt work im thinking hot glue but am not sure yet.

2D squares collage

This assignment is a continuance of the first square/circle 2D assignment. After we where critiqued we where then told to pick the one who had the strongest meaning to us. I chose the playful one. Then we made the contour and electrical maps. Then we took it a step further. We collaged the same images but with newspaper. After this was done we were told to build a 3D piece out of it. Picture will come soon. then afterwards with the 3 pictures above i made a encourdian book out of them.

squares for 2D

We are suppose to take squares and lay them out in a way to describe  them as

  1. rough/smooth
  2. playful/ orderly
  3. light/heavy
  4. relaxed/anxious

When I was being critiqued my group said that my heavy one could be as rough. The other ones they got correctly. Can you guess which ones which?
